Chase Ink Business Unlimited Card

⚡️ Fast Facts:

  • No annual fee!

  • Earns 1.5 points on per $1 spent on every purchase

  • Earn 5 points per $1 spend on Lyft rides through March 2025

  • Unlimited rewards with no limit to the amount you can earn

Are you eligible to apply?

Although this is a business card— don’t write it off right away! You’re probably eligible for a business card and don’t even know it. If you have a side hustle that earns additional income, then you have a business!

For example, if you sell your clothes on Facebook Marketplace or Poshmark, then you have a business.

Or If you are: a dog walker, a food blogger, an artist, an AirBnB host, an Uber/DoorDash driver, a photographer, a Mary Kay consultant, a content creator, a realtor, a husband who helps his actress-wife film all her audition tapes (oh, that just got personal)— then you too have a business.

To do this, you will apply for any business credit card as a sole proprietor. You will also use your full legal name as your business name and your SSN as your Tax ID.

“But it says cash back…”

The welcome bonus for this card is advertised as cash back, but the rewards are actually delivered as Ultimate Rewards points.

The real trick is knowing how to unlock those points 🔓 to be able to redeem them with travel partners. This is the best way to maximize the value of any of your Chase Ink business cards!

When you combine the points earned from any of your Chase Ink Business cards with your Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve® or Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card you now will be able to transfer those points directly to travel partners to maximize their value.

Chase 5/24

📣 Did you just hear us shouting? “Business cards! We love business cards!”

That’s because this card does not add to your 5/24 count. 🥳

However: You do need to be under 5/24 to apply to this card.

Ink Family Rules

We are sliiiightly obsessed with the Chase Ink cards because you’re able to carry all of the Ink cards for every business that you own.

If you’re under 5/24, a fantastic long-term strategy is to open the other Chase Ink Business cards to take advantage of these incredible welcome offers (and to keep your 5/24 window in tact!)

The Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card and the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card are our two other favorites from this family.

👉 You can carry multiples of the same Chase Ink card if you have multiple businesses.

Meaning: if you have a business as a sole-proprietor with your SSN and you also have another business as an LLC with an EIN number, you could technically get this card twice. 💳 💳

(At the time of writing: Between the two of us, we have three Chase Ink Unlimited cards!)

Referral Bonuses

The referral bonus for all of the Chase Ink cards is currently 20,000 Ultimate Rewards for anyone who uses your link to apply for an Ink card.

You can earn up to 200,000 points per year by referring businesses to Chase Ink credit cards.

Since the Ink cards are a family, whoever uses your referral link does not need to apply to the exact same Ink card.

💳 Example: You have a Chase Ink Business Unlimited® and you give your friend your referral link. They can apply to any of the four Chase Ink Business cards using that link and if approved, you will recieve your referral bonus points.

Redeeming Your Points

You can redeem your points for cash back at a 1-cent per point ratio. But we don’t recommend it.

The best way to maximize the value of your points is by transferring them to travel partners.

As we mentioned earlier, when you combine the points earned from any of your Chase Ink Business cards with your Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve®, or Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card you will be able to transfer those points directly to travel partners!

Once you move the points earned from your Ink card to any of those listed above, you can transfer to the following Chase travel partners listed below. ⤵️

Pssttt— and if you want our recommendation, our favorite transfer partner is Hyatt!

Chase Transfer Partners

✈️ Airline Partners

🏨 Hotel Partners

We transferred 120,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards to World of Hyatt to book 3-nights at Secrets Moxché in Playa del Carmen, Mexico for FREE!

“Can I put personal spend on a business card?”

This is a bit of a gray area.

Technically, according to the bank’s application you’re not supposed to put personal spend on a business card. However, it is not illegal and it’s a pretty common occurrence to do so for most people.

Why is that language in the application then?

Banks are required to have that language due to the CARD Act of 2009, which offers protections on personal cards, but not business cards.

Ultimately, only proceed with what you’re comfortable.

Keep in mind, if you do put personal spend on a business card, you and your accountant need to be on the same page — so keep good track of those receipts and expenses! 🧾💸

Luckily for us, my dad is our accountant. (Thanks, Dad!)

Exit Strategy: Keep, Downgrade, or Cancel?

Before we open any card, we always take a minute to consider what we’ll do with the card after the first year (you don’t have to have an exact answer just yet, but at least think it through!)

For us, this card is a “Keep” — with a $0 annual fee and 1.5x on every purchase, it’s a no brainer to keep in our wallets.

👍 Bottom Line

In summary: NO BRAINER.

There’s a reason we have three of these in our wallets!

A strong welcome offer, 1.5x on all purchases, and $0 annual fee — it doesn’t get much better than that!

The Chase Ink Business Unlimited® is one we’d definitely recommend!
